Chinese New Year Dinner and Molton Brown

Last weekend my cousin invited me to Chinese New Year dinner at a Chinese restaurant in upper New York with some of her friends.  Her friends included one of the retired co-owners of Molton Brown (prior to it being sold to Kao Corp. in 2005).

Knowing of my obsession with the cosmetics industry, my cousin seated me next to Lloyd Newman and his wife Cynthie.  It was such a treat to listen to Lloyd talk about how he and his partner purchased Molton Brown when it was just one shop and transformed it into an international brand.  We also got to discuss current day cosmetics trends and operations around the world over a meal of Peking Duck, steamed whole fish, green onion lobster, and other delicious Chinese dishes.
